I have been babysitting since my little sister was born (so over 14 years). I watched her full-time until she was over a year old. I have also babysat a then 4-year-old on an as-needed basis for 4 years now. I have been an emergency sitter for friends and family most of my life. I have taken child psychology courses, education courses, and I have observed in a Kindergarten classroom for 80 hours. I was certified in CPR/First aid years ago but my certification has expired though the training is still relevant. I have changed hundreds of diapers including cloth ones. I have a safe, new, 4-door car and a completely spotless driving record, never even received a parking ticket. I believe that childcare should be fun and interactive. You aren't paying me to sit on a couch with your kid and watch Frozen over and over (unless that's what Read more you truly want, who doesn't love Frozen?) I love to read and play games, especially the kind that require running or imagination. For the past year I have been working with a young woman with ASD (autism spectrum disorder). She is nonverbal and requires daily care. My duties include bathing, preparing meals, transporting to and participating in daily activities, and general safety and well-being for her. I would never leave this job if I wasn't going back to college in August for dental hygiene. I am employed through Franziska Racker Centers and have passed their rigorous background check.
