I was born and raised in Colombia and since a very young age (around 9 or 10) I started working with an institution for blind and deaf children which my school had contact with. Even though the kids from the institution were my age or sometimes even a bit older, I had the responsibility to play and care for them as well as help them out when they struggled with something. It was a tough experience to understand at first but it was the first time I ever had to take care of another person while also having a good time, and I learned a lot about compassion, responsibility and acceptance with it. When I was 13 years old - after a lifetime of asking for a sibling - my sister was born. I was old enough to help my mom out with many things during the pregnancy and because Read more I kept her company the majority of the time I also learned a lot about how to care for new born babies, and then as they grow up. I spent most of my time from when I was 13 until I turned 16 with my sister and her babysitter, learning and helping out with whatever I could, and after I turned 17 my mom began letting me take care of my sister whenever her nanny couldn't be around. When working with children not only do you have to be very careful but also very patient, because kids are explorers who usually are very active. Sometimes I would babysit not only my sister but also her friends and always have managed to keep their attention and care for them in a proper way. I am a big fan of sports (like soccer, basketball, volleyball and softball) as well as music (I sing and play the guitar), but I also have many other hobbies in between. I love learning new things, and biology is one of my greatest passions, I enjoy doing arts and crafts and any type of outdoor activity.
