Hello! My name is Brittany Solares, I am a college senior at St. John's University, I am currently studying Education, with a concentration in English, and will be receiving my Bachelors of Science in Education in December 2016. I will be student teaching in September, and I am currently in the process of getting my teacher certification. I have a two year old baby sister, whom I have experience with babysitting regularly since she was an infant. I worked for Summer Youth Employment Program where I was a Camp Counselor for children ranging from the ages of 3-6 years old. I also have experience with student's in grades 5th-7th, 9th-11th, I regularly observe and help out in classes for my education courses. During my time of observations I help out with assignments and assisting teacher's. I was also a volunteer for America Reads America Serves, where I worked closely with Read more 4 different student's to help improve their academic language skill's. I also volunteered for a Literacy Alive event hosted by my education honor society, Kappa Delta Phi, where we went to three different classroom's and I personally read them a book and along with my peers we conducted a lesson to help promote literacy.
