My name is Assata, I’m 20 years old (21 in February). I’m enthusiastic about working with children simply because I am a big cousin, big sister, aunt and God mom. I’ve been looking after young children for more than half of my life. I’m familiar with youth development through my opportunity to work in the youth services department of the City of Rochester’s Department of Recreation and Human Services(DRHS) from 2018-2023. I was familiarized with inclusive teaching strategies, emotional intelligence and how it affects our youth work and a ton of other things which I could elaborate on if there is interest. I have been considering babysitting/nannying for a while actually since my childhood I’ve been interested in babysitting and I even went to an entrepreneurial camp called Biz Kid$ to start a babysitting business (Fun Fact: I eventually started working for the program too😂). I’ve decided to take the Read more chance on making my childhood business come back to life now because I’ve matured more and I have some personal goals I would like to reach. I hope to soon be able to buy a car and I hope to put my love for youth happiness and parent relaxation to use with more children in my community.
