I have extensive experience working with children both as a babysitter and camp counselor. During high school, I worked at a youth and recreation summer day camp, where I was in charge of supervising approximately 15 children ages 6-12. As a counselor, I came up with games and crafts for the children to engage in, supervised them during free-play time on the playground, and chaperoned them on weekly field trips. I was also responsible for driving two of my campers (siblings ages 9 and 12) home each day after camp and supervising them for a 2-3 hours until their parents arrived home from work. I also babysat for them, in addition to another family (sisters ages 5 and 12), on evenings and weekends. Furthermore, during my Fall 2018 semester of college, I volunteered at Skidmore College's Early Childhood Center as a teaching assistant for a pre-school class of 10 children Read more ages 3 and 4. I love working with children of all ages, and especially eager to engage in craft and arts projects with them. As an artist and Art History student, I love coming up with art projects for kids, and find it fun to do art alongside them. I also love doing outdoor activities with kids, especially hiking and playing on the playground. Furthermore, I have experience working as a writing tutor in my college's writing center, and would love to apply this expertise to younger children; I'd be happy to provide tutoring services in addition to babysitting, especially in English and Social Studies.
