Hello my name is Jackie, i have approx 30 yrs of childcare experience. I take care of children because i love it! I started as early as a teenager babysitting for my family, (i am the oldest of 8 children.) And for families around my neighborhood. Once i became a parent i watched children in my home as well as becoming involved in whatever my children participated in. My experience includes, leader for both daisy and brownie troops, pop warner cheer coach and football team mom, classroom mom and religious education teacher. Once my children were all in school and able to take care of themselves i began taking care of children outside my home. I have watched and cared for children of all ages, some with allergies, some with behavioral issues and even twins, two sets in one family! I currently work part time as an on call supervisor Read more at the east area ymca (fayeyteville and manlius), as well as work as a direct support person (through toomey residential, a sister company of catholic charities) on the weekends in a group home for 3 women with mental and physical disabilities. I have taken many training through both of my employers, i am red cross certified in first aid, cpr and epi pen administration. I have taken the darkness to light training as well as the protecting Gods children training, both courses are to help to identify child abuse and how to protect children from it. I have also taken a medication certification course.
