Hi! My name is Bekah Emerson and I am currently a junior business student at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. I am originally from Ohio where I have my mom, dad, an older brother, a younger brother, a sister-in-law, and three lovely nieces who are almost 6 and 5 months old. I was 14 when my first niece was born and spent a lot of time helping to take care of her, and over the last few months of COVID, I watched my youngest niece from around her 2.5-month mark to 5 months. These three girls hold a big piece of my heart and it's so hard to be apart from them, which is why I love babysitting! My mom is also an elementary teacher and I was a teacher's aid in high school, so I have been around children for much of my life. I currently have Read more a fiance and a miniature Dachshund to keep me company in Colorado and love spending time in the outdoors with them. After moving to Colorado for school, I have worked as a Program Aide for a childcare center and have been the Business Manager for UCCS's Newspaper and Radio. I am searching more specifically for summer work but during the fall I will still be able to work some around my class schedule and Business Manager schedule. I love working to keep up with kids and doing hands-on projects and activities rather than screen-time to keep kids feeling stimulated and working on their fine-motor skills, critical thinking, and other skills to help them succeed in life.
