I graduated from Ohio University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Special Education. I absolutely love working with children and have a very adventurous spirit. I have worked with children in many different settings. Before going to college I regularly baby sat for several families on my street. During college I worked with students through field work, student teaching and volunteer tutoring services. Although, I am a certified Intervention Specialist through the Ohio Board of Education, I have decided to wait a few years before taking a teaching position in a public school. Since graduating from college I have completed a farm internship, worked at the Omega Institute (a holistic retreat center in Rhinebeck, NY) and worked as a substitute teacher. At the Omega Institute I worked in the Children's Program facilitating nature hikes, meditation and breathing exercises, art activities, cooperative play and circus activities. One of my duties Read more during my farming internship was to help care for a one year old who lived on the farm. One unique thing about me is that I am also a professional circus performer. I have worked with the Cincinnati Circus Company for four years as a entertainer and instructor. Some people say I'm obsessed with juggling. Since I began juggling five years ago, I have poured countless hours into the art and am currently learning how to juggle seven balls. This is a skill I love to share with children. I am also very passionate about piano and unicycling. I have been certified by the International Jugglers' Association Youth Education Program. I would be happy to perform or teach any of these skills if your children are interested. I do not feel comfortable openly displaying my references on my profile but would be happy to provide you with these in a private message.
