I am an experienced childcare provider whose job is not only to take care of your child, but also to be a positive mentor in their life. Through games, daily lessons, and positive reinforcement, I intentionally impart lessons about gender, environmental stewardship, racial and class equality, and more into my care practices. My goal is to help children become helpful, kind, empathetic, responsible, and just individuals (with a healthy and fun sense of humor!). I am also skilled in a variety of artistic practices including music, theater, creative writing, and visual art, and I love to incorporate artistic expression into childcare! From babysitting to teaching to camp counseling, I have an extensive amount of experience working with children in professional settings. I was a summer camp director at Camp Outright for four years, and have worked as a camp counselor for four different summer camps, so I am skilled at Read more entertaining multiple children at once and pulling all kinds of games and activities out of my sleeves. I also worked as a teacher's assistant in a fifth grade English classroom for one year with a program called City Year Chicago, in which I designed and taught small-group lesson plans for children who were struggling with literacy. Finally, I have worked as a babysitter at various point throughout my life for children ranging from infant to about 8 or 9 years old.
