Hi, I'm Savannah! My partner has just accepted a job working in Columbus, so we've just moved to the area. I recently worked as a full-time nanny overseas in New Zealand for a wonderful 18-month-old boy. I worked alongside the family through his issues with his health and sleep. Before that, I was a full-time nanny to the most amazing two-year-old girl in the metro Detroit area. We had tons of fun exploring, crafting, and learning how to use the potty! I have years of unpaid & paid experience with children of all ages. My passion for childcare began with the care of my little brother, who’s quickly become my best friend and continues to inspire every day. That experience encouraged me to pursue a job in early childhood education as a preschool teacher. While I am no longer one, the skills earned from that are ones I continue to Read more utilize today. I believe in creating a caring and inviting environment that allows for children to grow, feel safe and supported, and inspire them to use their creativity. I incorporate imaginative play, storytelling, and activities that motivate children to flourish cognitively, emotionally, and physically. In addition, I also have experience with individuals with special needs. I was raised by my grandparents, who ran a foster care business for special needs individuals in our home. Being raised alongside them gave me a much more comprehensive and empathetic view of the special needs community and those in it. My goal as a caregiver is to facilitate an environment where the child feels seen, safe, and welcome to express themselves freely. That does not change if a child has special needs or not. Rather, I just approach those kids with a bit more patience and understanding in mind. All this being said, I also look to have fun! Experiences make long-lasting memories that kiddos carry with them throughout their whole lives. I look forward to meeting your little ones and hope to play a positive role in their life.
