I’m a wife of almost 22 years and a mother of 4 children ages 21, 20, 15 and 14. I have worked for Columbus City Schools for 14 years as a childcare attendant, this is a position I currently hold. I’m also currently employed with Grandview Heights school district as a paraprofessional at Stevenson Elementary working with children in grades K-3 who have IEP’s and need assistance in completing their assignments. I have spent the last two decades raising, taking care of and teaching children. I hold multiple certifications that keep me current for both my jobs. Because I am a school employee I don’t work in the summer months so I’m looking for another way to do what I love to do which is working with children who need love comfort and consistency. Some of the certifications I’ve held are CPR and First Aide through Red Cross, State Tested Read more Nursing Assistance, CPI Training and Educational Aide Certification. I’m also consistently taking refresher courses through the state to keep myself up to date with proper policies and procedures as a school board member. What knowledge I haven’t accumulated through these many facets I’ve obtained from raising my own children.
