Hello everyone! My name is Amy. I am 37 years old. I am the mother of a 19 year old daughter, who is a college student, and a 13 year old son. I have always enjoyed working with children and knew at a young age that I wanted a career that involved children. I currently work as a part time nanny for two different families. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor's in early childhood education. I worked in the head start field on two different occasions. I not only worked in the preschool classrooms, but also in the all day infant/toddler daycare room. I went on to work as a case worker for children's services. I was able to help parents make some tough decisions to better their lives for their children and themselves. During my time with the agency I was fortunate to spend a Read more lot of time with the children I worked with. I did a lot of child transportation and supervised visits with their families. Recently, I pursued going back to school to become a registered nurse with a plan of being a pediatric nurse. I enjoyed the program and did well, but realized I would rather spend time with my children instead of always studying and doing homework. I made the tough decision to withdraw from the program. I enjoy spending time with children. I love to read with them, play outside when the weather allows for it, and do arts and crafts. I like that I get to help in providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children that allows them to grow and learn. I am CPR certified and trained in first aid. I am fully vaccinated for Covid. Along with raising my 19 and 13 year old children, I have 16 nieces and nephews that I have been very hands on with and have helped out babysitting for. I do not have cats or dogs of my own, due to my significant other being allergic, but do enjoy loving on other people's pets from time to time. I am a fully licensed driver and have my own vehicle.
