My name is Taylor Monahan. I am currently 21 year old and entering my senior year of college. I attend Eastern Illinois University where I am double majoring in pre-med Biology and Health Promotions with a concentration in Community Health while playing Collegiate Division 1 softball. I plan to become a Pediatrician because I love caring for children. When home with my parents I live in a place where I am surrounded by children, so I am constantly playing and interacting with them daily. I started babysitting in 8th grade for many of the families around my neighborhood. My junior year of high school I started babysitting for a family. I would babysit in the mornings for the mom to run errands, at night for them to go out, or after school as needed. The children are were 2 and 4 when I started. We played many games like hide Read more and seek, colored and did crafts and projects for them to learn. I enjoyed reading to them too. We spent at least an hour outside each day especially when warm. In the summer of 2014, I babysat a new born baby boy while the mom spent time with her four other children and took them to their sporting events. I spent half of my senior year of high school helping in our elementary school. I helped in the first grade, art room, and library. In the art room, I helped children with their projects including painting, coloring, and drawing. I got many fun ideas from teaching shapes, colors etc. through this. In the library, I would help read with the younger children. In the first grade classroom, I would help with many subjects including math, reading, writing and spelling/grammar.
