I have always loved being a caregiver, especially to children. Growing up as big sister, I knew that I had a responsibility to make sure my younger sister was well taken care of, although both our parents did a great job of doing so. As I grew up, I ended up being the neighborhood babysitter. Because our neighborhood was mainly Spanish-speaking, those families wanted a sitter that not only was able to speak the language but also, there were families that wanted their child to learn another language as they grew up. I have worked in an elementary's school after school program for 6 years, as well as a summer enrichment program. Making sure homework is done, handing out snacks, engaging in educational activities, and setting up recreational fun were my main tasks. I am CPR/AED certified through the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support.
