I am currently a student at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Early Childhood Education & Development. I am expected to graduate with my bachelors at the end of April 2023, and have the anticipated goal of returning to obtain my doctorate of philosophy in clinical psychology. I intend to use my future degree to become a pediatric clinical psychologist to combat the rising mental health crisis in the youth of America. Right now, I am currently taking a year off in between undergraduate and graduate schooling. I am going to use this time to gain critical hands on experience with children. Although I am young and childless, which may leave parents hesitant from choosing me as their provider, I am far from inexperienced. My mother provided in-home childcare services since I was born due to my heart condition, so I have been around children and Read more been learning about children's development and needs my entire life. I have gained knowledge through my degree and can apply what I've learned to better care for the children under my supervision. I currently work as an assistant teacher at a preschool individually managing classes of up to 12 children (aging from 3-5) at a time. One thing you should know about me is every child that comes into my care, and your family, is going to be able to build a personal and genuine connection with me as a provider. I go above and beyond to assure their needs are met, emotionally, mentally, and physically. I will not sit a child in front of a TV the entire day. I exercise their cognitive development, gross and fine motor skills, and introduce play-based curriculum. My mother was able to do in-home childcare for me my entire life and watch me because of it, knowing I would ultimately grow up with a safe childhood.
