My name is Regan Tischler and I am a recent college graduate with my bachelors degree from Point Park University in Pittsburgh. During my last two years of schooling, I had the opportunity to babysit two separate children from different families. The children were 9 months and 6 months old when I began working with them. I would spend my day being a nanny of the house for one child, while the other had more flexible hours and left me in charge of taking her to and from daycare, while watching the pet and putting breakfast together for the child. I babysat both kids for approximately 2 years, both are 2 years old at present. Unfortunately, I had to leave Pittsburgh to save money for myself and on rent while I begin studying for the LSAT to get into Law School. During my time off I’ve discovered how much I Read more miss babysitting and decided to try and continue my work as a babysitter/nanny, just at a new location. While working at Walt Disney World for 4 months in 2019, I discovered a passion for working and interacting with children in the workplace. Disney led me to take on a daycare job in the summer of 2019. I worked at Primrose Schools in Columbus, Ohio, and loved it. The age range of children I worked with from day to day was great. Some days I worked with 6 week old infants, while others it was second grade students. Everything between those two ages as well. Primrose is a school/daycare and it very big on showing love and care for the children through displays of comfort and affection as well as teaching them new skills. They are private but funded by Jobs and Family Services. My goal is to one day go to Law school for International Law and hopefully incorporate my love for kids with that degree if I were able to work for an organization which fought for children’s rights. I grew up with two younger siblings and have a large Italian family on my dads side so I am used to being around tons of kids/babies. I’m hoping my journey with kids doesn’t end and that I am able to still make an impact in a child’s life.
