Meet Theresa

I am currently a student at NC State, but I am from a rural town in the Midwest. I am the oldest child in a large family, with 5 younger siblings! I grew up taking care of my younger siblings, and I am extremely comfortable with infants and very young children (including diapers, bottles, burping, naps.. etc.). I started babysitting for family friends around age 12, and then once I got my license I drove children to and from school and events in addition to babysitting. My most memorable experience was with a family I babysat with for 2 years. They had 4 children, all under age 11, and I picked up the children every day after school, and I often would bring them to school early in the morning. I enjoyed the time I spent with these kids. When I would babysit them after school, we spent many hours Read more at a nearby park, or running around the backyard playing tag or hide and seek. I often made them dinner, helped them pack lunch for school, and helped get them ready for bed. Being with children is always the highlight of my day. I miss being with my younger siblings at home, and all the laughter and joy they brought into my life. I believe I have the experience needed to take care of children of all ages. In addition, I have the compassion, empathy, and patience to go above and beyond basic care and provide children with a healthy environment to grow in.
