Hi! I'm Thayna (pronounced “Tynah”), 26 years old, and I’m looking for a part-time babysitting position. Before moving here, I volunteered at a shelter where I cared for children ages 1 to 15. I have experience with children of different ages and families. Currently, I work 3 days in the mornings taking care of an infant, and I also babysit toddlers (2 and 4 years old) on Saturdays. In the past, I’ve cared for other families as well, including three children ages 4, 6, and 7 for several months and another family’s children ages 9 and 11 for two years. I truly love spending time with kids and always do my best to support their growth and happiness. I am patient, flexible, responsible, friendly, and loving. I have my own car, am comfortable with pets, and can provide references upon request. I would love the opportunity to bring my experience and energy to another family in need of childcare support.

I have 2 nieces and a nephew that I adore. Being around children gives you a fresh perspective that is needed within adult minds. I used to work at a daycare for about a year with kids ranging from month old babies to middle school children. I volunteered for the zoo and helped with the zoo camp. I also was able to teach a couple lessons to second graders. I used to tutor high school students and help them out with their homework. I also used to babysit and value outside time to play.

My name is Cynthia. I am married and the mother of three boys, ages 6, 5, and 12 months. For the first four years of our boy's lives, I cared for our children in our home. The first three years of a child's life are invaluable and my ability to be with them during these critical years is one I will always be grateful for. Due to the healthy rhythms and activities that were familiar to our children, the transition was seamless. I began nannying as my children started their journey at school. I was left with the desire to start this process again. My strong belief in the importance of children being at home from birth to age three overflowed into my newfound career. I have been honored to work for two incredible families in the last four years. I have watched their children grow and developed lifelong relationships with them. I am looking to begin a new journey with a family; one who shares the same love of child nurturing that I do. I prefer to nanny from your home to ensure a consistent environment for your child/children. Healthy foods, minimal screen time, and outdoor play are some of the fundamentals that will drive our daily routine. Some of my parenting techniques include: "RIE" as well as "Lifeways Childcare Providers." I am currently working on my Lifeways Child Care certification. I have a daily rate which includes gas for travel and cost of activities. I have annual memberships to Stan Hwyett Hall and Gardens, Akron Zoo, Hale Farm, The Museum of Natural History and Loyal Oak Lake. I am CPR trained and certified. I offer light cleaning, shopping, laundry, meal preparation, school/ activities transportation, and play dates. For your benefit and mine, I ask for a four week trial period. During this time we can determine if I am the best fit for your family.

I am currently a Middle School Writing Teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. I graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor’s in Middle Grades Education (ELA and Social Studies). I have been a Writing teacher for about 2 years. Before starting this position, I was a Substitute Teacher for about 2 1/2 years, with grades K-5. Growing up, my Grandma ran a daycare. Once I was a teenager, I frequently helped her run her day care. Taking care of infants all the way up to 5 years old. I have such a love and passion for working with children. However, I need to take a step away from the classroom setting for a while, and work in a different environment.

MY EXPERIENCE I am blessed to be a mom, but my baby is now an adult and out on his own! I am a stepmom to a live-in young adult male with autism, and this experience has taught me how to communicate in a whole new way. In addition to being a parent, I was a babysitter for many years in my teens. I currently babysit the children of extended family members whenever possible!
