My experience begins within my own home. I am the third child of seven, currently ranging from age five to twenty-six, so I have been surrounded by children my entire life. I have played the role of caregiver in many ways: cooking, feeding, bathing, changing diapers, helping with homework, washing laundry, cleaning. I am comfortable with children of all ages. Additionally, I have acted as a nanny for an eleven year old girl for the length of an entire summer. I was in the home from seven in the morning until her parents got home about five. I also occasionally babysit for families within my church. I have not had any official babysitting training. However, I have taken education courses on my journey to becoming an elementary school teacher that have taught me about human development and children.
