Hi there! My name is Adriana Carella, and I’m a sophomore at OSU-Cascades here in Bend. I’m studying Hospitality Management and double-minoring in Business and Spanish. In high-school, I helped care for and looked after two foster children (boys three and four), along with a six-year-old girl. I absolutely loved them. At times, it was challenging, but playing with them, teaching them new things, and comforting them during especially challenging days, was incredibly rewarding for me to experience. Additionally, I’ve helped my aunts and uncles look after their little ones on weekends throughout high-school. In my free time, which is hard for me to come by, I will admit, I love skiing, hiking, and paddle-boarding! If I am not working or doing those activities, you would probably find me curled up in a corner watching or reading Lord of The Rings. I am patient, fun, confident, and creative. I absolutely Read more love reading to the littles. I am confident in child-care skills, especially for toddlers. One of my favorite memories with the toddlers I used to babysit was reading to them. One of them had major surgery, and during his recovery, I would hold him in my lap, slowly reading his favorite stories. We would make voices together and I would help him sound out new words daily. Their adopted-mother gave me permission to read them Lord of the Rings, in fact, and it was so fun snuggling with them and sharing what I really love, despite their lack of understanding. All this aside, I am CPR certified and I am able to make creative snacks. I work well with parents to best accomplish their needs as well as the kids, while they are away.
