My name is Rebekah Lynn Ayers- daughter, sister, friend… fortune cookie connoisseur and lover of dogs. It’s a pleasure to meet you. Outside of work, I enjoy taking walks with my dog, drawing, singing, watching movies, and spending time with my friends. I am also a sucker for a good book, and, in my opinion, there is nothing that can't be cured by a hot bowl of Pho. In the past, I have studied Nursing, Communications, and Elementary Education at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix and Western Oregon University near Salem. Although it has taken me a few years to find my calling in life, for now, I know that I have truly found a passion in nannying. I love children and I love having the opportunity to work with them on a daily basis, nurturing their young minds and accompanying them as they experience this amazing world we live Read more in. Last summer, I worked as a nanny for an Indian family in the Beaverton area for about four or five months. Their two girls were 10 and 12. I absolutely loved getting to know them and learning about their unique culture. I helped with homework, drove them to extra-curricular activities, prepared meals and snacks, and helped them clean up and keep the house tidy. When I first moved to Salem, I worked for a military family of five. The father was stationed overseas for a majority of the year, so I provided much-needed support to the mother, who worked long shifts as a contract nurse. I cared for her three children who were 6, 4, and 2 years old. Some of my responsibilities included getting the oldest ready for school in the morning, potty-training the youngest, tidying up, preparing meals and snacks, and generally planning and executing fun activities throughout the day. My most recent job included caring for four boys, ages 9,8, 5, and 5. The twins were fairly easy-going, while the oldest two were autistic and required more of my attention. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with this family, since I was able to gain valuable experience caring for and understanding children with special needs, as well as twins. I was even fortunate enough to accompany them on several weekend trips and family vacations. All in all, I have lived a full life so far and have learned a lot from my experiences. I am looking for a new family from whom I can learn and grow as a nanny and as an individual. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you!
