Currently, I am a dedicated student at Portland State University pursuing my degree in Computer Science. Beyond my academic pursuits, I have a wealth of experience in teaching beginning level Kung Fu for three years. I worked for Mad Science, and Schoolhouse Chess of San Diego in my past. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and skills with others, and I believe in the transformative power of martial arts in fostering discipline, confidence, and physical well-being. While I am eager to provide high-quality childcare services, I am unfortunately not mobile and will resort to Uber and nearby locations for work. To facilitate accessibility, I am willing to significantly lower my rates if transportation can be provided. This personal decision to refrain from driving has actually brought about positive changes in my life, allowing me to embrace a more sustainable and mindful lifestyle. I am particularly interested in working with Read more families who could benefit from extra support beyond basic babysitting services, as well as families that can benefit from a lower wage than is typically requested for these services. My background includes experience in applied behavior analysis and in-home living support from the SDSU research foundation and the state of California. I am well-equipped to offer tutoring in reading, math, and science, as well as provide emotional support to children. I believe in creating a nurturing and supportive environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential. A pet-friendly individual, and open to various childcare arrangements, whether long-term or one-time. My commitment to my education means that I am in school for the long haul, having made the decision to return to school in my 40s. I am excited about this new chapter in my life and am eager to contribute to the community. Furthermore, my wife and I live in a small and well-maintained apartment in Happy Valley that can be utilized for short babysitting events. It is a clean and inviting space, equipped with high quality music, movies and video games to keep children entertained and engaged (as well as art supplies and board games if technology isn’t preferred). I look forward to the opportunity to connect with families and provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for their children.
