Hi! My name is Meg, and I am a highly experienced Nanny and former kindergarten and Conflict Resolution teacher, receiving my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Columbia University in Early Childhood Education and Conflict Resolution (the latter of which definitely comes in handy when caring for youngsters!). After spending many years teaching kindergarten on the East Coast and many more working overseas teaching conflict resolution skills through noncompetitive sports games ( I speak several different languages), I have since returned to my roots as a private Nanny and Babysitter, of which I have over 20 years of experience both combined. I have worked with a very wide variety of families and children, the past 10 years spent working with families in Oregon. I enjoy spending time with kids going for walks and playing outside, going puddle jumping and rock hunting, playing card and board games, singing, dancing, listening to music, Read more putting on at home science experiments, working on puzzles, helping with homework and doing cooking projects (age appropriate). Being extremely creative, I also enjoy doing arts and crafts projects, building forts, singing, dancing, playing dress up and make-believe and anything that encourages the imagination. All age appropriate of course, and with the intention of further developing their individual interests and skill sets (fyi: although I always respect the ultimate decisions that parents make for their own children, I am for the most part not a fan of screen time/television - I personally believe that it rots one's brain a bit! Anyway, the real world is far too interesting :)). I strive to encourage and nurture healthy social interaction, positive self-esteem, and curious exploration with each child that I care for. I'm extremely dependable and organized, COVID-19 vaccinated, First Aid and CPR certified, fully background checked ( I'm enrolled in the Oregon Central Background Registry), a nonsmoker, and have a perfect driving record (I'm such a good driver that I've never even so much has gotten a parking ticket in my life!). I always leave my employer's homes tidy usually cleaner than when I arrived. I am looking for placements, ideally regular, in the Corvallis/Albany area. And ah yes, I have fantastic references!
