I've babysat in my home and at the parent's homes off and on for a few years, as well as watching over kids during nursery in my former church. I'm not trained or certified, but I've had first hand experience with playtime (coloring, toys, building blocks, etc), making and giving snacks along with cleaning up after, handling grumpy kids or the need for timeouts (I'll follow how you prefer discipline, or I can do none depending on your preferences. I draw the line firmly at spanking though. I will never lay a hand on anyone, so my preferred methods involve a more gentle approach and having them process emotions and talk about why they did what they did. Help them see why, for example, throwing a toy or hitting a sibling is bad then suggesting apologizing.). I'm not comfortable changing diapers or bathing, but can put on movies/cartoons, read to Read more them, and tuck them in for a nap or bedtime.
