I’m a 60 year old mom (not yet a grandmother) who loves taking care of children of all ages. In my forties I was a certified medical assistant and have worked in medical environments off and on since that time. Most recently I worked part-time for Casita Montana Medical Center in Ajijic, Mexico (for 5 years), where I resided in semi-retirement for six years before relocating to Portland in June of 2015 to live with my grown daughter. I also operated a small, private art studio and guest house of my own, where I provided guest suites and concierge services to visitors from the US and Canada, which often included caring for their children while they enjoyed the local sights. I speak Spanish fairly well, am well traveled, and have served as a long-term child, house and pet sitter for many friends and clients over the years, both in the Read more United States and in Mexico. I have many excellent personal and professional references available. I am a responsible, trustworthy and positive person who can be relied upon to serve as your partner in managing your child care needs, not just as a babysitter. I enjoy being "present" with children, interacting in a supportive and positive way through reading, playing games, and other playful activities. I am a good cook who is comfortable preparing traditional as well as vegetarian / special dietary meals, and I’m open to doing some light errands / housekeeping such as running laundry or doing dishes, etc., when and if your child care circumstances allow.
