My name is Samantha, I'm an 19 yearold who moved from Hood River to SE Portland about 9 months ago. Since my move I've been nannying for one family with two wonderful little girls (3 and 7) after school 5 days a week. I don't do any additional chores for the family currently so my days are mostly spent molding play dough or at the park. With this family I've learned how to better deal with bickering siblings, which is something I had previously never had any experience with. Before the move I had been a nanny for one family for 3 years, they have one little boy with Down syndrome who is just full of energy. From this family I became comfortable driving with kiddos, distributing medication (and following a tight medication routine and calendar), and taking care of general chores and errands (I.e. Groceries, dry cleaning, laundry ect.) Read more Aside from paid experience I began facilitating classes for the children and youth in my area (ages 6-14) at the age of twelve that greatly focused on community building and how to incorporate service into our everyday lives. Based on these same ideas of service and community building I started a camp in the summer of 2013 for youth and young adults (ages 12-20) called Two Wings. Taking care of and teaching children really is a passion of mine, and has been from a young age.
