I have always found myself fulfilling a caregiver role among family and friends. I love helping people and supporting them in becoming who they were meant to be. These qualities were reaffirmed when I worked at my high school daycare. There, I interacted with many different families coming from a variety of socioeconomic, racial, religious, and cultural backgrounds. I enjoyed being a support to those families in need. Working with the children also taught me how to be patient, understanding, comforting, and most importantly, encouraging. I use the skills I learned there constantly in my day-to-day life. When I later worked at a pharmacy, I found myself using tricks I had learned taking care of cranky children when dealing with stressed patients. I'm currently a college student and have found it hard to find ways to give back to the community and I strongly believe that this is a great Read more way to do so.
