I am 29 years old, living in Northeast Portland. I have received both doses of the COVID vaccine as well as the booster. I live with my partner and one other housemate. They both work from home. Working with children and being around little ones has always been present in my life and a joy of mine, largely because my parents have always worked in the school system and churches. I grew up babysitting for their colleagues and congregation members and helping out wherever I could. I typically work at plant nurseries or as a private gardener, and child care is a joy to supplement those schedules with. As our world shifts with COVID, I'm wanting to focus more on childcare, as I know it is essential to find trustworthy help and connections through these times. I want to help life run smoothly, while keeping both of our bubbles small, Read more but feeling no-less full, enriched, and fun. I have been a nanny for several families, typically with two children, ranging from infants to young school age. My current position is with a young couple who have an energetic little girl born November 2020. I am with her in their home from 7:45am-4:30pm, engaging in activities to reach developmental goals, going for walks to the park, cooking small meals, keeping up with nap routine and schedule, and the transitions that come with all of these things as she ages. I have a little experience with aiding in potty training, and am always willing to be brought into the loop on things you want to work with your child on your desired methods. I've also worked as a government-provided respite caregiver for a sweet young girl with Rett syndrome, which included very specific medication schedules, physical therapies, and attention to consistent seizures. My mother has also worked in special education since I was very young, so although it was not my firsthand experience, I have become very familiar with how to work alongside various behavioral levels, physical capabilities, mental and emotional patterns. I know how important it is to meet children where they're at. Overall, I simply cherish the sweet connections that are able to be made with bright, bold young minds, and the opportunity to learn, play, and discover alongside them while watching over them.
