I’ve been working with children most of my life. As a teenager I cared for my brother and sister respectively 11 and 16 years younger than me. My husband and I didn’t have children of our own till we we’re almost forty but we stayed involved with young people from babysitting for our friends to teaching Boy Scouts canoeing. After our daughters were born our life was devoted to them and their friends. After my husband’s death I’ve managed to stay in touch with the children by babysitting for friends and teaching Sunday school for the three and four year olds. I I love these little people and that’s exactly what Children are, not kids or rug rats. They are little people. When I did substitute teaching I referred to the students as ladies and gentlemen. They loved it.
