Hello! I am an experienced infant/childcare specialist, nanny, and educator. Newborn support is my specialty! I would love to find a family to support with a young baby. I am available for early morning, evening, and overnight shifts. I specialize in soothing infants, assisting new parents and caring for newborns, medically fragile, multiples, and premature infants. I excel at providing children with a safe, engaging, and fun environment. This also fosters the natural learning that comes with exploring the world with our hands and minds. I am a University of Portland graduate. In the last decade i have had a daughter, gone to midwifery and nursing school, assisted in the delivery of many babies, beat cancer, raised an amazing young lady, served many women and families, and have now returned to Portland to pursue caring for children and their development. Between nursing and midwifery, I have become a mother-baby-child expert. Read more I LOVE working with babies!!! I am a naturally energetic person, and I like to keep busy. I am an experienced educator specializing in working with children with ADHD, autism, and other sensory issues, as well as neurotypical children. I am also well studied in early childhood development. I spent the last year guiding a wonderful group of distance learning students. I successfully navigated the changing and dynamic schedules of my pod students, while helping them to achieve academic success. One of my first graders, who struggled with reading, improved his functional reading ability by 3 levels in 4 months. I teach reading and writing phonetically. This allows my students to interact with the language even when they are unfamiliar with new words. I develop math concepts by drawing on children's surroundings and their observations of how whole items (integer introduction) relate to one another. As ideas of numerals develop, simple mathematical operations begin to naturally become accessible to young minds. I simultaneously integrate vocabulary and knowledge base growth by encouraging exploration of topics that are interesting to the individual. I have always had an innate ability to connect with children by meeting them where they are at while I work with them. Safe driver with reliable car. Fully vaccinated! I love animals I would love to connect to see if we are a good fit! Regards, Beverly Annie Barry
