Hi! My name is Cece, I’m 26 and was born and raised in Portland Oregon where I lived for most of my life. I have been a babysitter since I was 14 years old and on. I studied early childhood education and English in college at the University of Kansas. After college, I moved back home to Portland and began to nanny full time. I worked with a family of 3 for a year, before they helped me transition to a job at their children’s preschool where I worked for about eight months while a teacher was on maternity leave. I continued to babysit almost every weekend/ many week days during and after that job for families at my preschool which I loved very much. The following summer, I nannied for a family with a 6 month old infant for a month as well, full time. I now work at Read more a preschool, primarily with children between one and two years old and then with after school care in the afternoon with children between 5-11. I have my food handlers license as well as being CPR/AED certified. Working with children has been the greatest gift of my life, helping them grow in their natural curiosity and enthusiasm about the world is what I love and what has drawn me to the profession. My hope as a care giver and teacher is to cultivate that, as well as encourage their budding imaginations through sensory play, art, and reading. I am a very outgoing and talkative person, but I also strive to teach by example when it comes to active listening and general thoughtfulness. I have decided to return to nannying because I have realized how much I miss truly getting to know children as individuals and taking extra time, and care for them and their specific needs. As a high schooler, I worked at a doggy daycare every summer and am very comfortable around all types of dogs! I am a proud cat owner myself, so any assistance with household pets would be a genuine pleasure. I never shy away from busy work, from basic chores such as laundry, dishes, and cleaning up after the children and myself to running errands, household shopping and organization. I consider myself task oriented and efficient.
