Hi there, my name is Luca and I recently relocated to Ithaca from Portland, OR. I grew up in Albany, NY and spent much of my young life hiking, cooking, making art and taking care of my younger siblings. This has informed much of who I am as an adult, and I'm stoked to be back in NYS, near my family and the land I call home! I graduated from Clark University with a Bachelors degree in Geography and a Masters degree in Community Development, which I've used over the last few years in food justice and social work settings. Although I've enjoyed this work, I've realized that I am unhappy in a 9-5 desk job setting; in Ithaca, I'm hoping to explore my passion for cooking and being outdoors. I feel so grateful to have been raised in a setting where I was introduced to these things and would Read more love the opportunity to teach this to other young people. My work experience with youth includes teaching at a preschool, working at a shelter for unhoused teenagers and babysitting for many years. As a transgender man, I am hoping to find an LGBTQ friendly family. I believe that humor, patience and creativity are important parts of communication and it's important to me to carry that everywhere I go, including in my work with young people. Right now my schedule is very flexible, and I would love to find a family looking for support over the summer with the potential to continue work through the fall. I'd be more than happy to help with chores, gardening and cooking! I have a reliable vehicle and a clean driving record.
