**DEAF FRIENDLY** Hello!! My name is Madi! I have worked with kiddos for most of my life in some capacity and love it, they bring so much light into the world and I am grateful for all the experiences I've had. Coming from a Dutch extended family, I was always the first to volunteer to "play with" (read: babysit) the little cousins running around. At around age 15 I was part of a new church plant and was called on to co-establish a nursery and toddler program. For parents, this seemed to be a great help, they had a place to drop their kiddos off in a safe and educating environment before they went off to join the rest of the congregation. As I grew up with a teacher for a father; my most prominent type of jobs was long-term babysitting for fellow district teachers during their summer trainings, gotta love that word-to-mouth!! One thing that parents tend to love about how I interact with their children is I treat them as a peer (when possible and safe of course, such as coloring together) rather than a "job". When we have dance parties I'm getting in there too! And I'd love to see their tricks they know on the trampoline! Currently I am a sign language interpreter working with different agencies where I make my own hours or working in a high school setting, but of course it's summer so I have too much free time! Besides working I love to get outside whenever possible, and I also train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu...mostly for the camaraderie if I'm being honest! I also have a perfect driving record, not to brag! ;) One thing that parents tend to love about how I interact with their children is I treat them as a peer (when possible and safe of course, such as coloring together) rather than a "job".
