I have been working with kids since I was a teen. I've been a nanny, an infant room teacher, a toddler room teacher, a preschool teacher, a Sunday school leader for 1 year olds through middle school, I spent my 20s working with hundreds of kids at the Boys & Girls Clubs in Oregon and Idaho (spending most my summers leading the 4th & 5th grade group of 100 kids). In my 30s I got involved with working in residential treatment with behavioral challenged children and adolescents. I simultaneously worked on my psychology degree. Then I transitioned to supporting my sister with the care of her two toddlers, 1 & 3. I nannied for them for a year and then moved to Portland for a job with a prominent social service agency in Portland, providing permanency services to youth in foster care. I loved that job. But 9 months ago Read more I transitioned to a role in my agency that is primarily focused on supporting, training, and coaching foster parents of BRS level youth. I enjoy my new role but I really miss my time hanging out with kids. I love every age of kids but I especially enjoy nurturing babies and exploring and being silly with toddlers and preschoolers. But I can be a attentive and interactive with any age. I have a tremendous amount of natural skill and occupational training. And I would love to make a little extra money while doing something I love and supporting a family in need of quality support.
