Hello! My name is Siona, a 33 year old who has been through preschooler boot camp since graduating college in 2014. I have a B.A. in Theatre Studies and a minor in Writing from Ithaca College. Also, I’m about to start grad school to get my Masters in Art in Education with a concentration in Expressive Arts Therapy. I’m also training to be a doula and certified in Reggio Emilia. Okay, buzz facts done. Now comes the fun part: I was raised by 3 year olds in my 20s. My requirements for success were taught to me as this- be curious, say yes, and believe in magic. Never break a pinky promise. Check on your friends. Wash your hands. Laugh when something is funny. Loud. A little girl I nannied for told me once, “Confidence comes from your mind, and then your body shows you that you can do it.” Read more Another little girl asked me what the word “hope” meant. I realized I had no idea how to define it. My answer ended up being, “brain magic.” These are my true qualifications. Yes, I can change a diaper and (eventually) set up a stroller. But I can also truly notice, learn, accept, and love a child for everything that they are and wanna be. Because that’s what kids do for me.
