Hello everyone! My name is Berenice Aguilar. I am 21 years old, relocating to Portland in August 2015 for better job opportunities and eventually attend community college to gain my certificate in early childhood and family development. I am fluent in both spanish and english. Beginning in Korean. I am a very active person who loves being outside and doing all kinds of activities. I also enjoy being at home relaxing and learning new things. Child care has been something i have truly loved since elementary school and gained hands on experience helping care for my cousins and friends children. My first and actual babysitting job experience began in 2008. I would pick up my friends 8 year old sister up from school, assist her with her homework, make a simple meal, and do activities with her until her mom would pick her up in the evening. Most importantly i Read more made sure she got to enjoy being a kid. I would also, when needed, babysit a friends' 8 month old son and 1year old daughter. I have had the opportunity to be with them for the last 5years and its been amazing to see them grow up. I would carefully observe their behavior and actions with one another, making sure they were being safe. I would often take them to recreational activities, small trips to the neighboring town, play games, teach them spanish, how to read, to clean up after themselves, cook, and the understanding of obeying and helping parents, as well as, other helpful life skills. I would occasionally assist with the young ones during family get togethers, appointments or trips. Most of all i would make sure they knew I loved them very much, and they could always come to me if they needed anything or just someone to talk to. Finally my most recent experience was caring for an 8 month old baby girl for almost a year about 5 days a week from 2pm to about midnight. Like my previous experience I would make sure she was safe, make meals, and do activities with her around town and at home. I would also bathe her before bedtime, make sure she was taking her naps, encourage crawling, walking, and speaking, and show her lots of love and affection. Not only do i babysit but i also do housekeeping work. I have about 5 years of custodial/housekeeping experience. So if you are looking for someone whom loves being around children and helping them grow, who wants them to enjoy being kids, and who can also help around the house, i would be more than happy to be the person to do just that!
