Hi! My name is Erin Schaepe. I’m a recent graduate from Wilkes University with a degree in Secondary Education and English. I have plenty of experience working with kids from babysitting for family and family friends (ages ranging from newborn to 12) as well as working as a child care aide for Pre-K and School age at the YMCA. During this time, I would give baths, ensure homework was completed as well as help with homework, participate in play time, administer breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, read bedtime stories (preparing for bedtime in general), and find crafts/activities to complete. In addition to this, I was a School-Age Lead Teacher at a daycare and worked closely with the Pre-K class as well, administering breakfast, lunch, and snacks, ensuring that the kids interacted kindly with one another and remained on-task with their teacher, helped take care of them as appropriate, etc. I Read more worked as a Behavioral Health Technician through CSBBH in a school environment as well where I supported students with behavioral issues throughout their day to day routine. I also help my sister assist a U4 soccer team on the weekends :) I love working with kids. I feel as though we have a lot to learn from them as they view the world from such a unique and creative lens. Their silly nature allows us to remember to not take life so seriously. I am up to date with my certifications as I work in a school setting and have an abundant amount of trainings that I have completed.

We came to Carbondale for a wedding and hired Erin for two evenings. Her references had great things to say, and she was very communicative leading up to our trip. She seems super comfortable with kids; our 1-year-old liked her immediately. She was responsible for meals, baths, and bedtime -- and even took him for a walk in his carrier one day. We felt good leaving our baby in Erin's hands, and would highly recommend her for other babysitting gigs in the area!
