Passionate Kids have always been a part of my life. From junior high on, I've volunteered and worked with children ranging from infants to pre-teens. I don't take child-care responsibilities lightly. Children are the world's next generation and to their families they are The World. I've had the opportunity to nanny for many families, some of them for longer than 6 years. I enjoy teaching kids, mentoring them and seeing them grow and learn. Experienced I've worked with kids for over 12 years, volunteering for several non-profit organizations such as Riverside Community Church, Best Buddies and Big Brothers Big Sisters. I've babysat for over 20 families who were introduced to me through church, the community, word of mouth and care.com. I'm experienced in, and comfortable with many facets of child care: transportation, cooking, cleaning, laundry, bathing, tutoring, overnight stays, vacations with families, behavioral problems and disabilities (Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Ehlers Read more Danlos Syndrome). Educated In 2012 I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Business Administration. I started working as a Graduate Assistant at Chatham University and finished an MBA in 2015. Upon graduating, I started in a Sales Audit position at American Eagle. Life took an unexpected turn when I was in a near fatal boating accident. The magnitude of the accident had profound affects on every aspect of my life, including my career. Which brings me to where I am now. I'm currently taking prerequisite courses in science and training to become an EMT so that I can apply to PA programs. I'd like to work in Trauma or Emergency Medicine when I complete the program. I have taken a babysitter's training course through Blue Cross Blue Shield and am CPR certified. I will complete my EMT program and become certified at the beginning of August 2016. Other details I prefer not to make my references' contact information public. However, if you are interested in my profile and would like to check references prior to moving forward, I will provide them. As a Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentor, I'm required to keep current child and criminal history clearances and can provide both.
