Hello, my name is Heather and I am seeking to assist a family/families with overnight care for their child/children. Within the past year, I have assisted families in which a parent/parents work overnight shifts (nurses, nurse practitioner, police officer). In the fall of 2021, I assisted a family with overnight infant care for their 6-week-old so the parents could get much needed sleep. My degree is in education and have worked with/cared for children of all ages for over 15 years. Currently, I am a nanny to a 3, 7, & 8-year-old in Bridgeville, PA and volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster children.

Growing up in a home that provided foster care to many children, I learned to value from a young age the importance of curiosity, play, teaching at an appropriate level, and the impact of engaged care on developing minds. I have spent time working with children of all ages in paid babysitting/nannying positions since I was 16, as well as counseling kids 5-18 at a summer camp for 10+ years. I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and love to use some of my professional skills with the kiddos I work with. In addition to spending time with children, I love being outdoors (swimming, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing), practicing yoga, traveling, and reading. I am (mostly) fluent in Spanish and have spent many months in Mexico volunteering at an orphanage. Hi, I am a Point Park student majoring in Screenwriting & Entrepreneurship. I have my car downtown, so travel is no issue. I will babysit, housesit, petsit, and or clean whatever needs to be cleaned. I am a straight A student, with multiple leadership positions on campus. I work with kids often as I am a camp counselor every summer for at risk, intellectually gifted children, I’ve been a babysitter for years, and (as I’m a former wrestler) I run wrestling clinics for elementary and middle school aged children. I am currently getting my undergraduate degree in Psychology and will start a degree in occupational therapy with the intent to become a pediatric occupational therapist. I raised my youngest sister for the first few years of her life. I babysat from 2015 to 2020. I started working in a daycare in 2021 to today. I have my FBI clearance, Criminal Record Clearance, Child Abuse Training certificate, Fire Safety Certificate as well as HIPAA Training.

Why do you love being a sitter? I love being a sitter because I truly enjoy working with kids and making a positive impact in their lives. Every child is unique, and I love building connections with them, helping them learn, grow, and feel safe. Whether it’s reading stories, playing games, or helping with homework, I find a lot of joy in being someone they can trust and have fun with. It’s also rewarding to support parents by giving them peace of mind knowing their children are well cared for. What experience do you have? I currently work at the Kids Klub at LA Fitness, where I care for children of all ages, including those with disabilities. I’ve also babysat for different families, taking care of children ranging from 3 months to 14 years old. These experiences have given me strong skills in supervision, engagement, and adapting to different children's needs and personalities. I’ve also helped with daily routines like feeding, changing diapers, and bedtime. What skills and training do you have? I am CPR and AED certified through the American Heart Association and have gone through background checks and additional training through my job at LA Fitness. I’m fluent in Spanish, which helps me support bilingual families and assist with homework or tutoring when needed. I’m also currently in college studying Allied Health, which has given me a solid understanding of child development, health, and safety practices.

I've always known I wanted to work with children. I started working at a children's center in high school and continued throughout college. I have worked as a preschool assistant teacher, a preschool teacher, a substitute teacher, and then a special education teacher all in Pennsylvania in a span of about ten years. I am currently an EC teacher in North Carolina. I enjoy lots of outdoor activities, reading, and crafting.

I am a fun, caring, and patient hard worker. I have experience with preschool, first, and third grade students as a early childhood/special education major. I also worked in a senior living facility for about 1 1/2 years. I have taken care of three cats, but love all animals. I worked as a community assistant (ca/ra) for about two years on campus, so I’m really good at managing emotions, creating fun activities, and crafts.
