Hi, I'm Jess! I'm a rising junior English and Theater major at Muhlenberg College. I am home for the summer and looking for a job with a welcoming, fun-loving family! I have a lot of experience in working with children and have babysat for families since the summer of 2008. In May of 2013, I had the opportunity to be a director of an elementary school production of "Sleeping Beauty" as part of a community study project, which allowed me to learn how to engage children creatively and effectively. The summer of 2013 I worked as a counselor at a day camp, working with boys and girls from ages 6-12. Throughout high school and college, I have had the opportunity to engage in fieldwork with students in the Upper Dublin and Allentown schools through various workshops and volunteer programs. I believe that the best way to have fun is to Read more make fun. While I do not have a car/license, my background in theater and improvisation has made me very good at entertaining myself with what I have around me. I am more than willing to find and bring in creative crafts, games, and activities for your children to have fun under my care. Likewise, I will walk with your children to any local parks, restaurants, etc. that are within a reasonable distance to keep things varied. Looking ahead, I plan on continuing my education and getting my masters in theater or English education. My passion for wanting to be an educator has stemmed from the work I have done with children and the kids I have babysat for. This will undoubtedly continue if I am given the chance to babysit your child(ren). My past experience has given me the unique opportunity to understand many different traits in young children. I am highly empathetic, a great communicator, efficient, timely, and organized, all of which I believe are strong qualities needed in a babysitter.
