Hi! I'm Autumn, a vibrant nanny. I adore children of all ages. I love watching milestones, reading stories, or any games that encourage children to learn, grow, and express themselves. I'm well experienced, I've been a nanny for about 8 years and I'm still very passionate about it. I believe that each child should be cared for specifically according to that child's needs. All children are different, some children are calm and some are energetic, some are more introverted and some are extroverted, each child should be treated in their own way to promote growth emotionally, intellectually, and physically. I have experience with newborns to 13-year-olds, as well as multiples, developmental difficulties, autism, and ADHD/ADD. I'm very flexible and have no problem working together to make the perfect fit for everyone. A brief description of some of the children I've worked with: I’m currently a part time live-in nanny for Read more two beautiful 3 month old twins. Previous to the twins I worked with a bright little girl from 4 months old to about 15 months old. I love learning about and following developmental stages such as mimicking actions and learning new words, sentences, and numbers, it's truly amazing. For me, helping mom and dad out is just as gratifying as caring for the baby. Always happy to help with household tasks or errands, nothing's too small to help a day run a little smoother! The first child I was a nanny for came to me at 2 months. I had the privilege of taking care of her until she was about two and a half years old. Encouraging cognitive growth as well as social growth. She did have a developmental delay with speech so I encouraged and taught her basic sign language for communication e.i. hungry, thirsty, more, etc. My second child I cared for was a brilliant, vibrant three-year-old. She was autistic, which didn't make her any less great! To understand her a little better, I read books and did research on autism and caring for autistic children. ("Born on a Blue Day: Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savant" is a great book for insight on autism from a first person point of view). She's gotten so big now and hasn't let any limits hold her back! I've also nannied for elementary school aged children. I cared for an eight-year-old boy for a year, who was just full of energy. I would help him with homework after school and participate in high energy activities to keep him engaged. Now he is in middle school and is taller than me!
