To Whom It May Concern: I am a graduate with a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Temple University. I specialize in the area of child development. My past and current experiences in the social work field have allowed me to empower and aide individuals in need of resources involving mental health, child care and employment assistance. I believe I have the ability to handle highly sensitive matters while working diligently towards the best interests of the individual. I started my career with Children’s Crisis Treatment Center as a Behavioral Health Worker in the Therapeutic Nursery. My work included: implementation of the children’s treatment plans in the structural background, teaming up daily with clinicians and weekly with staff to ensure children and family goals, to support the classrooms and other play areas to promote a calm, safe, clean and therapeutic setting, documenting timely and accurate electronic chart records and confirm the Read more completion of necessary paperwork and outcome measures, and creating a working relationships with parents/caregivers to provide support and identification linkage. In my internship at Temple, I was placed at the United Communities of Southeastern Philadelphia in Southwark House for last year in my undergraduate degree. In this internship, I gained experience in the practice of social work and social policy. My work included: mentoring problem solving and self-esteem workshops with students during program hours, acquiring strong relationships and helping in obtaining services for parents/guardians and siblings of students, and assisting in writing curriculum for Southwark House’s teamwork and health conscious activities involving their after-school program. My past experiences have allowed me to gain the necessary skills needed to effectively communicate with clients and staff members. I am eager to learn more about emotional and behavioral challenges concerning individuals and family systems. I will be able to learn more about social work regarding child development within youth at risk and use my knowledge and skills to help those in our community.
