• Comfortable with pets

I started babysitting my nephews when I was 10 years old while their parents were in the house but occupied. Because of my young age I connected well with them and Iearned to sense how children feel and how to be flexible with the type of care I provide them based on that. I’ve always had a natural insitinct for childcare and have found that most babies/ toddlers I’m around find comfort with me if not right away, after just a short amount of introductory time. Ive provided care for my nephews and nieces up to this day from the time they were born to ages 9, 11 and 12. I have experience with 6 infants, 8 toddlers and 12 kids under 12(y). While I spend time with the children I always try to be engaging with the little ones and educational with the older kids. I don’t rely on Read more technology and prefer to let the children engage with the world around them. If allowed and weather permitted, I prefer playing with the kids outside or walking infants/ toddlers around in the yard. I can cook or prepare anything the children need either from scratch or prepared meals. For bedtime I’m comfortable with most techniques that each set of parents prefers to utilize and I usually either have a period of quiet time before hand or read books to prepare them for bed. I like to keep play/ living areas pretty tidy and clean up after the kids are asleep, usually by the time parents come back. I’m comfortable putting out food for pets or letting them out to the yard. Overall I get a great joy from babysitting and never look at it as a job. I care for each child I watch like I did my own nephews and nieces. Their health, happiness, comfort and safety are always my top priorities.
