I have no officail "qualifications" for childcare services, but I do have a daughter who has just turned 16. She is a fabulous straight A student who is a mature, confident girl on her way to a bright college future. I always encouraged reading, making learning fun at a young age by playing educational games along with age appropriate crafts. All of the above things not only were fun and good for her but I have always enjoyed them myself as watching her grow. I was 20 years old when I became pregnant and I remember at my baby shower one particular comment that was made to me that has never left and that was to remember children are like sponges they are always absorbing everything in their environment even when you may not be paying attention. I do not believe in calling out a child in front of others to make them feel shameful for there mistakes but to take them aside and make them understand why it is that I am unhappy with their behavior. Of course this is all geared toward the age of the child. I would be willing to take CPR classes and any other medical classes that would make a parent feel that their child is in the best of hands while left in my care.
