Hello! My name is Rosanna Paterra and I am from Pittsburgh. I graduated in December 2013 with a K-12 art education degree in Pennsylvania and was immediately employed as an art teacher for the school in which I was student teaching. I love working with children and exposing them to amazing and wonderful things through art and music. It has always been my passion to care for children because their excitement for life is what brings light into the world! My style of teaching allows children to sharpen their critical thinking skills and develop stronger problem solving skills. In order to achieve this, I try to incorporate games, activities, music, discussion, and movement in my art classes. I come from a strong musical theater background as well. I just moved back to Pittsburgh after living in Brooklyn for the past two years. While there, I was sitting for two amazing children, a 4 year old boy and 7 year old girl, in the West Village. I was responsible for organizing play dates, cooking meals, taking the kids to after school programs, and keeping a consistent bed-time routine. I loved those kids and miss them dearly. During my time in Brooklyn, I was also teaching creative movement, yoga, and Zumba at preschools with the company Leap Smart. This was one of my most rewarding jobs yet!
