I am a mother of four, one boy three girls, ranging in ages from 16 to 22yrs. The 22yr old is my step daughter whom I've raised since she was 18months. I am now a grandmother of a one yr old When I was 22 I started working for Your Other Hands Nanny Service. I did a variety of services such as day care substitute, after school monitor, event sitter and emergency sitter. For five of those years I worked as a mothers helper for a set of twin boys from the time they were six months to five years. My tasks included watching them in home as mom shopped. I participated in feeding, bathing and bed time routines. I went on day trips with family and doctor visits and day trips. I absolutely loved the family and my job. At the same time the boys were about to start Read more school I started having my own family and left the nanny service. In 2001 I started my job as a crossing guard. I did that for 11years. During that time I was a volunteer for the pre school co-op while my children attended. I chaperoned trips from the time kids were in pre school until 8th grade. I was recently invited to the graduation party of the very first child I crossed and have been able to keep in contact with so many because of the relationship I was able to establish with the children and parents. Due to changing life circumstance I left the crossing guard to be pursue full time day work to be home after school for the teenagers in my house. For the school year of 2014-2015 I had the wonderful experience of caring for a set of twins, one boy one girl age 9 . I picked them up from their Lower Merion school and walked them home . I watched them for approx. 2hrs and longer if needed. helped daughter make dinner and deserts and monitored play dates. Parents job schedule changed and was no longer needed. Around 2016 the family referred me to another family, same neighborhood and school. Children ,boy 6 and girl 8. Same routine 3:30 to 6:30. Then pandemic hit. Routine for family changed when school was back in session and was only needed for driving kids to soccer, basketball and cross country practice. I also carpooled other children when asked. I am opening my availability to watch children for working parents from 3pm to 6:30. Tuesdays would have to be no later than 6:30 pm sharp.
