I grew up babysitting my little brother (12 years younger than me) when I turned 13. Around this time, my mom went back to school. My responsibilities included changing diapers, feeding him, getting him ready for bed, and playing! I have more experience with children age 5-10 and have babysat groups of up to 4 boys at once. For that age group, I was responsible for homework help, afternoon snacks, cooking dinner, getting kids ready for bed, and resolving conflict. Most of my experience in this age group happens to be with boys, but I have an adorable 12-year old female cousin that I love to visit! Additionally, one of my closest cousins has autism. I have minor experience caring for children with disabilities. Kids bring a huge smile to my face, and I think 3 years old is the most precious age.
