I am a native of Pittsburgh who has just recently moved back after living in Northern Va for the past 22 years. For the last 10 years I have been the Assistant Teacher in the 2 and 3 year old classes at Wesley Preschool in Vienna, Va. In addition to school, I babysat many of the children after school in the afternoons or weekend evenings. As a teacher, I was certified yearly in CPR/first aid. I also had background checks done yearly. As a teacher and a babysitter, I am very familiar with and conscious of dealing with food allergies. I babysat for families that I had 2, 3 or even 4 of their children in my class. These families were my extended family and the children like grandchildren to me, I love being with kids. I appreciate each child and their individual personality. When I spend time with them, Read more I encourage play and activities. If they like to play ball, we play ball. If they like a board game we play board games. Reading is also essential. I like to take time in an afternoon to read to the children. I always indulge their request for 2 or 3 books before bed. I am a stickler for following a family's rules and routines. I would love to have the opportunity to get to know your family and spend time with your child/children.
