I am a rising senior at Penn State University, currently studying Biobehavioral Health to become a physician's assistant. My desire to help improve quality of life for everyone and enhance patient-provider relationship is what has motivated me to choose a career as a physician's assistant. My experience working with children includes being a camp counselor with Radnor Day Camp (RDC), and working as a tennis coach assistant for Conestoga Swim Club. My role as a camp counselor at RDC involved serving as a mentor for 7th and 8th grade campers in the Leadership in Training Program (LIT) and leading groups of LITs in fun and educational activities (such as field trips and performing arts activities) through which they learned communication skills, decision making, teamwork and conflict management. As a tennis coach assistant, I organized tennis games and fun exercises to help improve tennis skills and promote teamwork, for children ages Read more 5-16. I oversaw inter-club, away matches when the head tennis coach was absent and often supervised children during lunch breaks and pool time. Additionally, I have experience babysitting kids and being responsible for activities such as taking kids to the park, making sure they eat their meals and making sure they get to bed. I am First Aid, adult/child CPR and AED certified. In addition to having experience working with children, I am a patient floor volunteer at Mount Nittany Medical Center during the school year in State College and an undergraduate volunteer at Penn State's Behavioral Neuroendocrinology Lab. I am currently in training to be a hospice care volunteer. I love to run and am currently the women's co-workout chair for Penn State Club Cross Country. I am reliable, organized, responsible and hard-working. I enjoy arts and crafts (especially drawing and collages), reading, and listening to music!
