My name is Brianna Amoscato. Currently, I am continuing my second year as a contracted third grade teacher at Hartwood Elementary School as part of the Fox Chapel Area School District. I graduated with a degree in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in April 2014. The following year, I received my M. Ed. in Instruction and Learning with Pennsylvania certifications in Elementary Education PreK-4 and Special Education PreK-8. I have much experience working with children of all ages! I have tutored extensively within the Pittsburgh Public School District as well as the Fox Chapel Area School District. Currently, I volunteer with Urban Impact as a flute instructor, an organization which focuses on bringing music to the North Side. Traveling down unexpected paths, have helped me to think critically about my vocation. After completing a summer internship teaching writing to inner-city students at Summerbridge Pittsburgh, I continued to Read more work to empower students with difficult home lives. I tutored in an inner city middle school, worked at Conroy Pittsburgh Public in an autistic support classroom, and volunteered with the Somali-Bantu refugees living in Northview Heights. Through these experiences, I have learned the true importance of excellent teachers. I find joy in working with and teaching all children!
